I found 7 people as my interviewers. Include 5 PCOS patients and 2 patients with other gynecological endocrine diseases as the control group.
Do users pay attention to their period cycles health and are they interested in the related apps?
All PCOS patients have the habit of using the period cycles care app because they have the need for treatment and track the disease. One interviewer in the control group chose to use a notebook to record the date.
What are the pain points and needs when our users are using these period care Apps, and why?
The reminder and record function is not designed for PCOS patients.
Most users can't understand the icons correct meaning in the record function (flow, pain, color, etc). No text notes function. History cannot be transferred to the new device.
How to design a feature which establishes effective life habits to help users achieve the goal of good period health?
Connect with other electronic products such as Apple watch to reminder or alarm. Build pop-up notice at computer. Form a support group to cooperate with each other. Three of interviewers have the habit of using the daily schedule, which can added habit goal to the calendar.
Explore what it is that makes users feel comfortable and safe when using those Apps.
The record feature is the most important for all interviewers and needs to be placed in the easiest place to use. Can use more interesting and humorous ways to reminder.
Smart record and analysis feature that include period cycles and ovulation mode. Humanized reminder suitable PCOS patients. Support infographic export and cloud data.
Provider medicine reminder feature could connect IoT product or any electric device. Support upload medical history. User could add notes in each days on calendar.
Users can set their living habit goals, make support groups with friends or other users, achieve goals, win rewards. Our app provides professional diet, fitness, and emotional soothing guidance.
The home screen uses the circular graphic to display the period cycle data.
Although this design is very popular, it's difficult to understand the accurate date. Recording process is very lively and interesting. Medicine reminder function design is a bit like an alarm clock, feel a little bit confused about how to use.
Use modules and data to display personal health information. Display all calendar-related functions on one page.
Personal information is very easy to understand. Consider adding the graphics icons to help understand. The interaction of turning off the medication reminder alarm clock needs to be improved, which can refer to the first design.
Use the monthly calendar to display users’ health information.
Record detail by the drop-down menu.
Weekly calendar on the homepage will be more targeted. The monthly calendar can be displayed in the calendar function. The drop-down menu is not clear enough at a glance.
After the test of the 3 concepts, then merge the highlight point and feature into this wireframe.
After user testing, I collected a lot of precious opinions. Based on these opinions, I started to improve my first design version.
Through three times of medication reminder user testing. In the final design, the user can click the "Dot icon" to check each reminder status. When the user receives a notification to take medicine, the user can complete the task at the pop-up windows. After completing a reminder, it will disappear from the "Today" page. Users can click "See all" to view more medication reminders.
Redesign the icons in the record the symptom page. Changed the symptom description from the rectangle to the dialog box. Improved the treatment journal and deleted the "Add" icon that could cause misunderstandings.
Users can edit the ingredients, the system will generate daily diet recommendations based on the ingredients they have. Because the recommended daily dishes take up a lot of space that cannot be put on one page, I split the diet generator step.
